LTEC 5200 - Project Summary
The target audience for this project includes K-12 educators and educational leaders, though the content is applicable to any educator. The project will focus on new forms of digital assessment and their alignment with cognitive learning theories, exploring how leveraging assessment technology can maximize learning outcomes based on our understanding of the brain. I envision this project reinforcing best practices for improved memory retention, helping teachers facilitate the transfer of information from short-term to long-term memory for their students. My plan is to use this project as a foundation for presentations at Texas educational conferences, ensuring its sustained impact. This topic is particularly important to me as I struggle with memory and have a young daughter with learning differences. Additionally, in my new role at an edtech company that develops curriculum and assessment management platforms, I believe that advocating for online platforms with advanced assessment tools will not only benefit customers financially but also enhance the efficacy of learning for the students they serve. I plan to incorporate multimedia elements, including video and interactive assessment applications, to present my arguments effectively. This project may lend itself to being organized in an online learning platform like Rise Articulate or developed as a presentation incorporating various multimedia tools.
